Helps with some types of depression

I suffer from bouts of seasonal depression, meaning that the episodes are not related to life events, but are more a disorder that is either triggered by changes in diet from season to season ( nutritional changes ), changes in exposure to sunlight in the autumn/winter, or perhaps genetic and having to do with neurotransmitters in the brain not reacting as normal when under more stress. Whatever the cause, I prefer to try natural products before resorting to traditional prescription drug therapy, if possible, when the depression is not terribly severe. I find that this supplement, DL-Phenylalanine, if started early in the fall season, helps quite a bit to prevent some of the worst symptoms from starting and continuing throughout the winter, as it works primarily on the mood regulating sensors in the brain. Since the substance DLPA can't be produced by changes in your diet, as it isn't found in food, the supplement provides what the brain may need to sort of regulate itself as to depressive episodes. I feel more motivated, more evenly tempered, and less "moody" when taking the product and feel that it is a really good natural treatment for mild depression.
