Alpha Lipoic Acid - 600 mg

Great for helping with blood sugar/stamina

I've been happy with Natrol products in general, but the ALA specifically has been very helpful. I'm borderline diabetic and my doctor recommended this to help stabilize my blood sugar and improve the effectiveness of my other antioxidants, After about 2 weeks, I noticed that I wasn't getting the peaks and valleys in my energy levels or my blood sugar levels. It really makes a huge difference in how I feel, though you have to be patient in the beginning. I've had other brands of ALA since, and I have to say that the Natrol seemed to be the most effective.


Important Antioxidant

I started taking Natrol Alpha Lipoic Acid a couple years ago after reading about this important antioxidant. Alpha lipoic acid is not only an antioxidant in itself, it also helps the more familiar antioxidants (like C, E, and beta carotene) work better.
Although alpha lipoic acid is present in small amounts in some foods, you simply cannot get enough from diet alone to have a beneficial effect. After a few months of taking it, I noticed minor scrapes and cuts were healing much faster. I am sure there are other beneficial effects as well, but that was the one I noticed most.


Natrols Alpha Lipoic Acid 600 mg

A year ago I was put on ALA 600 mg, 3 times a day along with Co Q 10, Vitamin E and Vitamin C from a holistic doctor for bio-toxicity. Before started this in my daily regimen, I could hardly get around, experienced extreme fatigue and weakness. Now a year later, I am still continuing this regimen but I have more energy and I can deal with the infrequent days of fatigue.
