My doctor recommended that I take alpha lipoic acid because I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He said that they strenghten the arteries and the heart. I have begun taking them now for a couple of months and my pressure has improved. Now I don't take my medication everyday. I believe that this vitamin has improved my health and my skin seems to have also benefitted from it. It seems less dry.
