Essential Fatty Acids Softgels

From the Manufacturer:
Marine Lipid Concentrate providing: EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) 300 mg, DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) 200 mg

The omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil help to balance the omega-6 fatty acids, which are found mostly in vegetable oils. When these two groups of fatty acids are out of balance, the body releases chemicals that promote inflammation. People appear to produce more of these inflammatory chemicals when experiencing psychological stress (e.g., academic examinations). With a fatty acid imbalance, inflammatory response to stress appears to be amplified.

Fishy tasting
by extrawork

I tried taking this supplement after hearing of all the benefits of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. It was a reasonable cost product, but after about a week I noticed that I was burping more than normal, and my burps had a definite "fish taste" to them - like I had just eaten a bunch of smelly fish. Other than the burps it did not taste fishy, but it was pretty disgusting - so I had to stop. I ended up trying a friends more expensive version from a high-end supplement store and they had no aftertaste. So...I guess you get what you pay for.

Essential Supplement

This is the best supplement you can take, bar none. Pure fish oils are a critical component to a healthy body and in today's diets, they are hard to get. This is the easiest way to supplement your diet with EPA and DHA Fish Oils.

I have used Vitamin Shoppe brand for several years and I have always been pleased with their quality and prices.

Keep you healthy!
by cecilia

I've been using this since half a year ago. I never believed in taking supplements to help with my overall health both inside and outside until I took a class in nutrition. After taking this for a month, I already started to notice that my hair was shinier and my skin was smoother. I read in my textbook that fish oil is a good oil, especially for the epidermis. So try this out, it might help with your skin. You only need to take one softgel a day. It is easy to swallow too! For those of you who are scared of pill-like medicines and vitamins.

#1 product
by CG

I started using this product about 5 years ago. After about 6 months of taking it, I really started to notice that I was calmly able to do things that would have stressed me out before, and it kept getting better. It has dramatically improved my emotional quality of life. After having my cholesterol checked, they told me my good cholesterol was really high, and I believe that was from taking this product. I have tried other brands of fish oil, and they all gave me fishy burps; this does not.

Fish Oil

I have tried many of the Vitamin Shoppe products. This one does not stand out as one of their elite. I prefer the liquid fish oil. If you disregard the taste, I think you will get more benefit from that product. But the pills didn't seem to do much for me. It did however, help get the amount of efa's I needed, but I had to take a handful of them to reach what I needed daily.

If you can't handle the taste of the liquid than you'll enjoy the pills much more.
