Black Cohosh is one of the herbals that I use to reduce symptoms of early menopause. In the late 1990's I began taking a product containing several herbal remedies that have shown to be effective in reducing the symptoms, however, I had so many side effects that I began to search for single herbs that could be used alone or in conjunction with complimentary supplements, so as to reduce the possibility of uncomfortable side effects such as stomach upset or heart irregularities. I steered clear of Valerian, in particular, which produced nausea and left off taking several other root herbs, and settled on Black Cohosh as my mainstay in treating most of my menopausal symptoms.
Since regularly taking the Natures's Sunshine Black Cohosh, I have had much fewer occurrences of the night sweats which would disrupt my sleep, and find that many of the mood swings I was experiencing, along with mild depression, are likewise reduced. The supplement seems to alleviate much of the skin itching, vaginal irritation and dryness, and lessens the frequent bouts of thirst and dry mouth I had been troubled by. It seems not to cause the stomach upset for me that many herbs do and has no obvious side effects, other than a slight reduction in blood pressure, which for me was an added benefit and not a problem, at all, as I have mild hypertension, anyway.
I trust and rely on, for many of my supplements, this one in particular.

This products has helped so much with some of my symptoms, including hot flashes, skin dryness and mood swings. Like most women, I don't want to take hormones because of the bad side effects, so this provides an effective substitute.
