It was used both internally and externally for eczema and psoriasis, as well as to treat painful joints and as a diuretic. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, burdock root in combination with other herbs is used to treat sore throats, tonsillitis, colds, and even measles. In Japan, it is eaten as a vegetable.

I have been using Burdock Root as remedy for both fevers, colds, and urinary tract infections. Burdock root tastes a bit sweet. I prefer this particular brand because this is alcohol free and inexpensive. As an added advantage, it also helps in curing joint pains and purifying the blood.
