St. John's Wort
I took this product on and off for several months, and consistently for about a month, and I can admit that I felt like my mood was a little bit better, though I am not sure if it correlated with the pills or not. However, what I can say for sure was correlated was the digestive problems. The days that I took this supplement were the days my bowel movements were quite sub-par. If you need anti-depressants, see a psychiatrist rather than messing up your stomach. Not A cure All
This product was recommended to me by friends who swore by it. Being open-minded I gave it a shot as I was experiencing bouts of sadness for a short period of time. I tried it for a three month period but I honestly can't say that I saw any major improvement. I believe the bouts that I experienced just ran their natural course. It may work for some but I do not believe it was effective in my case.I was disappointed
I tried this product for about 4 months and found it didn't help me at all. My mood was still low and I was still troubled going through my divorce. My doctor had been trying to get me to take anti-depressants and I refused because I wanted to get though this period without drugs other than my blood pressure and diabetic pills. Well, I saw little or no change in my depression so after discontinuing this product I saw my doctor and he prescribed anti-depressants. In less then one months time I was feeling better than I ever felt in my life. I took them for 6 months just to help me through my divorce and am fine now. Maybe St John's Wort will work for people who just feel down sometimes but I wouldn't recommend it for people going through a major life change. Not guaranteed, but it can help
I took this product for quite a few months as an alternative to going on anti-depressants. I wouldn't suggest taking it rather than going for treatment if your case is bad, but I just felt sort of "down" and blue, and was having a little trouble getting my days going. I found that once I'd been on the capsules for about a week, I started to feel more alert and not necessarily happier, but more capable of handling day-to-day existence without getting seriously stressed out.
I think for mild cases of Blah, this supplement can be extraordinarily helpful. I do know that it is considered effective enough that it is not supposed to be combined with other anti-depressants, which I suppose shows that it definitely can have measurable results. It worked for me and I am planning on trying it again in the future.
