Tea Alternativeby Jessica
I have been drinking yerba mate tea for about three years now, and have added Yerba Mate capsules from Source Naturals about six months ago. When I don't have the time to brew fresh tea, these capsules do the trick. They provide a safe alternative to caffeine pills and are extremely easy on the stomach. This is great for those who cannot handle brewed teas or coffee. Yerba mate contains several compounds which are said to be beneficial in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which I fully agree with. These compounds, such as polyphenols, are antioxidants which reduce free radicals that can cause such maladies as cancer. I don't see any drawbacks to this product except the price; about $15 for 90 capsules. For those on a tight budget, yerba mate may be a luxury item, although I still recommend it.
Was this Review Helpful? Yes No Gentle alternative to caffeineby Marisa
I became a bit of a coffee addict after a year of sleepless nights with a new baby, but the caffeine was killing me, between the mood swings and then the withdrawal headaches when I'd try to go without. I found out about yerba mate as a safe alternative, and at first tried it in a drinkable format, which I was unable to stomach. I was pleased to find this formulation, by a company I already trusted (I took their Neuromins DHA supplements when I was pregnant). It is easy to take and gives you a positive boost to start off your day.
