Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin that is required by our bodies due to its involvement in carbohydrate, protein, and fat metabolism. Biotin is a cofactor in a wide variety of enzymatic reactions. It also helps form and maintain chemical structures known as "crosslinks" within the main protein found in hair and nails (keratin). Maintenance of these crosslinks helps to promote hair and nail strength.

I do like this product because I like what biotin can do for your hair and nails. I'm just not sure that I noticed *that* much improvement after taking this product. I felt like my hair was healthier and I felt healthier inside, but I didn't really get any outside comments regarding the quality of my hair and nails (which obviously is the only way to judge the effectiveness of a product). I will continue to use this stuff in good faith, forever wondering if it is actually doing what I hope it is.
