First off, the price is up my alley. I like Rite Aid products because their quality is not compromised just because the price is low. This is like the major brands because it does the same thing. I first got this as a free sample in 2002 and noticed almost an instant boost in mental clarity and less mid-day drag. Plus, I heard that it helps filter out the body's toxic properties. Every since 2002 I have made it a point to try to keep some around the house and I have no regrets in doing so.Low dose...
I have been taking Niacin for about two years now because my doctor recommended it to help lower my cholesterol. I actually bought this product by mistake. I have previously been buying the name brand, and decided to try to save some money and give the Rite Aid brand a try. I don't really have any complaints about the potency of the pills, but the dose per pill is far too low to be effective. I have to take 5 pills to get the amount of Niacin I usually get from one pill. All in all, this is a great product and is very potent. I just wish these were 500 mg pills instead of 100 mg. If you have never taken Niacin before, you have to be careful not to take too much or else you could get a "Niacin Flush". You will turn bright red and itch like crazy for about 30 minutes.Very small dosage
While I have heard good things about Rite Aid, the dosage of 100 mg seems quite small. If you take a multi-vitamin, you're probably already getting 40-50 mg of niacin from that. Most sources that I consult recommend 250 - 500 mg supplemental doses.
So, do your research before you buy this niacin in small doses or you may have to take several a day.
