Vitamin C 1000 mg

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is necessary for normal growth and maintenance of the human body. It plays a part in the development and repair of all bodily tissues and is crucial for healing wounds and repairing cartilage, bones and teeth. Vitamin C is also involved in the production of collagen, used to make skin, ligaments, tendons and blood vessels.

Vitamin C is one of nature's most powerful antioxidants, working to protect the body from harmful free radical molecules which may contribute to both aging and disease. It's found in some concentration in all fruits and vegetables, but citrus fruits, strawberries, cantaloupe, tomatoes, broccoli, potatoes and leafy greens are the best sources.

As a water-soluble vitamin, vitamin C is not stored in the body and must be regularly replaced through diet or supplementation (the body cannot make it on its own). Deficiency is rare, but smoking, stress and certain illnesses can cause reduced levels.

Supplementing with vitamin C is well-known to help strengthen the immune system.

Vitamin C is our daily use product. We used it for years, and tried different brands including this one from Nutraceutical Sciences Institute. It works OK, however, it is more expensive than other products, and didn't give us a significant better feeling. We decided to use another brand and gave this up.
