Natural Is the Best
by Hazel

I have taken this product for about 3 years. GNC is my brand name of choice. They have several products I use on a regular basis and this is one of them.
Because of the recent information about Vitamin E, I no longer take this as often, but continue to use it. My doctor has recommended I do so.
I also use Vitamin E for cuts and scrapes on my grandchildren, after cleaning them first. This helps heal and reduce the scar as well and increases healing time by half. The price is very good for the quantity. I would buy this product again.

excellent for healing and to prevent scarring

Although I take a daily multi-vitamin containing more than twice this amount of Vitamin E, as it's a super anti-oxidant and helps the body to be more disease resistant, I buy this lower dose brand of oral soft gels just to take with me when camping or hiking in the mountains. They pack easily, are heat and cold resistant, and are perfect to use if I skin my knees or get a cut. I just clean the affected area with a prepackaged alcohol wipe or swab ( NOT with peroxide, which is corrosive to the tissue ) to kill any bacteria and clean out debris from the wound, and then pierce one of the soft gels, squeeze it gently, and allow the liquid Vitamin E. to saturate the cut. From my own experience Vitamin E applied to the skin helps heal wounds faster than antibiotic ointments or even hydro cortisone creams, which often aren't necessary if the wound or cut is cleaned properly first. Overuse of antibiotics, even on the skin surface, often makes the body resistant later in life when they may really be needed for more serious wounds. Vitamin E also cuts down on scarring and protects the skin while it heals. Putting a handful of the soft gels in my backpack or gear takes up little space, less than the liquid forms or tubes of cream, and they are great for skin nicks or cuts! Although not a traditional use, it makes perfect sense, as most expensive hand or body creams contain vitamin E, as it's well respected as a superb skin conditioner and softener. Try them in this way, as the soft gels are economical and are perfect for small cuts and abrasions, and you'll see just how well they work to protect and heal, and they do reduce scarring!
